Ann Kingiri is a Principal Research Fellow and Director, Research and Innovation at the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS). Ann’s research interests span across, governance of technologies, digital innovation, gender, renewable energy, climate change policy, and science technology and innovation among others. She has experience in capacity building, research and policy analysis focusing on these thematic research areas. She holds a PhD degree from the UK in Development Policy and Practice discipline focusing on governace on new technologies. She is the Secretary General of the African Network for the Economics of Learning, Innovation, and Competence Building Systems (AfricaLics – www.africalics.org). She has served in various technical committees/taskforces including the “genes drive research in non-human organisms: recommendations for responsible conduct” and “GeneConvene Global Collaborative Advisory Board”. She is a non-executive director of Kenya Climate Innovation Centre (KCIC) and a visiting research and academic fellow at several Universities in South Africa, Kenya and UK.
