Dr Petroula Mavrikiou is an Associate Professor of Statistics at the Department of Business Administration of Frederick University. From 2007 to 2018 she has served as Head of the Business Administration Department of Frederick University. She has received her PhD (1999) from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Cyprus, and her Diploma in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in Greece in 1992. Prior the position at Frederick University she worked as a lecturer at Frederick Institute of Technology (1999-2007) and as Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the University of Cyprus (1993-1999). Her research interests focus on mathematical statistics-probability inequalities, and limit theorems for dependent random variables, and on social and gender statistics. Dr Mavrikiou has founded and directs the Research Unit on Gender Equality and Inclusion (RIGE), spearheading research through national and EU-funded projects, including those under Horizon Europe and Erasmus+.
