INSPIRE team at GA meeting in Krakow

It's that time of the year again, the time where the INSPIRE team, accompanied by members of its Advisory Board, gets to reunite to look at our tasks, see what we've achieved, discuss the lessons we've learned and the challenges we've encountered, and decide on our next steps! This time, we gathered in the breathtaking premises of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, the oldest university in Poland and one of the oldest in the world. It was a highly productive meeting, that left us feeling proud and excited for the upcoming months, as we now entered the final year of the project.

We started our meeting like we always do, with a roundup of the previous months, highlighting the milestones we reached and the outcomes of our work. We then gave the floor to each of our Work Packages to introduce their tasks and provide us with a clear picture of what was achieved and what is left to be achieved in the near future. And that's not all! We also started planning for our final conference, which will take place in the spring of next year, in Brussels!

The second part of the meeting was more focused: we split into smaller groups to brainstorm the many ways in which we can make the resources we developed known across the board, even beyond our project's completion. Many valuable ideas were put forward and we're eager to see how these will come to fruition later!

We are also incredibly honoured to have received constructive and timely feedback from our Advisory Board members present at the meeting (Mary Ann Danowitz, Pavel Ovseiko, Dagmar Simon), who really took the time to look at our project objectively and leverage their expertise to support us in our journey.

Our deepest gratitude goes to the team at the Jagiellonian University for their warm welcome and to our coordinating team at the Open University of Catalonia for their leadership. INSPIRE would not have reached these heights without the dedication of everyone involved!

Sustaining Progress on Gender Equality in Research Systems. An INSPIRE Interview with Dagmar Simon
Advancing gender equality in research and innovation is shaped by a combination of policy frameworks, institutional practices and wider societal developments. While many organisations have introduced strategies and action plans, their effectiveness depends on how well they are integrated into governance structures and everyday decision-making. At the same time, recent challenges to equality and diversity initiatives highlight the need to reinforce and sustain progress over the long term.
