
Anna Knapińska is a sociologist and science policy expert working as an assistant professor at the National Institute of Information Processing in Warsaw (Laboratory of Databases and Business Analytics). Her research interests include the transformation of the Polish R&D sector and women's participation in research, especially in STEM (doctoral thesis on professional biographies of female professors in the field of techno-sciences). In her work at the Laboratory of Databases and Business Analytics Systems, she uses business intelligence tools to improve data quality and support science policy decisions. In the European project GENDERACTIONplus, she coordinates the implementation of a dashboard of interactive reports presenting statistics on women's participation in the European R&D sector. For many years she has been the statistical correspondent for Poland in the She Figures reports published by the European Commission.
