Jelena Ćeriman is a Research Fellow at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, University of Belgrade. She is the vice-president of the Gender Equality Committee of the University of Belgrade and the Coordinator of the Gender Research Laboratory, one of the main research units of the Institute. She holds a PhD in Sociology. She currently focuses on education policy, contributing her expertise to working groups at the two main institutes in this field in the Republic of Serbia: the Institute for Improvement of Education and the Institute for Education Quality and Evaluation. Her ongoing research lies at the intersection of cultural and political sociology. It includes comparative interdisciplinary studies of family practices, social assistance and care in European countries, as well as studies of civil society in the Western Balkans.
